A Small Meeting in Between

I met an old friend today. It wasn’t anything dramatic or emotional, just one of those simple, unexpected meetings that slip into an ordinary day, a sudden unexpected call from her.

She came by, we talked for a while about life, routine things, nothing too deep. We laughed a little, exchanged updates, and filled the silence easily, the way people who once knew each other well often do. It felt comfortable, not intense. Familiar, but calm.

Soon enough, it was time to leave. She went back to her routine, and I returned to mine. The day continued as usual. Yet, those few minutes quietly carried memories from the past shared moments, old conversations, and phases of life that now feel distant but still real.

I don’t think every reunion needs emotion or longing. Some meetings are simply reminders. They show us how time moves, how people change, and how memories remain without demanding space in the present.

That brief conversation didn’t shake my world. It didn’t linger heavily. It just passed through my day, leaving behind a soft trace of the past nothing more, nothing less.

which made me to live those moments of past, which let me strike a smile on my face.

And sometimes, that’s perfectly enough.
